We spent the past two days presenting and discussing our research at OPEN-Syria and Omran Strategic Studies under the Syria Sanctions Policy Program (SSPP), an initiative I have the pleasure of leading with the support of the Syrian Forum.

Our next workshop on enhancing the efficacy of sanctions, to be held at the Middle East Institute in Washington DC, will focus more on US sanctions and their impacts on the banking sector, humanitarian conditions, and the Assad regime. Researching sanctions doesn’t make you many friends, but it’s a must in light of the current situation. More about the SSPP here.
