On the Myth of Rami Makhlouf’s 60% Share of the Syrian Economy

Yes, Rami is influential. But that he controlled 60% of Syria's economy is a very common myth. Perhaps 6%?


Look at the composition of Syria's output in 2010 to get a sense of Rami's share. He had little presence in agriculture, mining, wholesale, and public services.
