The best way to end the misery of the residents of the Rukban camp and stop the politicization of their suffering is to relocate them. Providing sufficient aid to this camp, located in the middle of nowhere, is logistically challenging and can only marginally improve the deplorable living conditions.

The sharp decline in the number of camp residents observed in late 2019 and early 2020 was primarily driven by efforts from the Syrian government.
