The AANES has responded to Amnesty International 's report from April, which documented "large-scale violations" relating to detention. 

Amnesty Law 10-2024, which was recently enacted, is a significant and positive development. It addresses injustices from flawed counter-terrorism court trials by providing mechanisms for reduced sentences or release for those unfairly convicted. 

The law's implementation could help alleviate issues of torture, lack of legal representation, and the plight of at-risk detainees. Whether it will be implemented in practice is a separate question...
